February is a VERY busy month at Crestline.  Please take a few minutes to read all the important information below!

  • Boosterthon Kick-Off Pep Rallies - Wednesday, 2/9

  • E-day - Friday, 2/18 (NO IN PERSON SCHOOL)

2022 EXPRESSIONS WINNERS

Thank you to all of the students who participated in the Expressions Art Contest this year. We are thrilled to announce the 2022 WINNERS.  You can find the complete list here. Congratulations!

The Expressions reception announcing the final winners will be held on Wednesday, February 9th at 2pm in the CES Auditorium for all of our winners along with one parent. 

REGISTER FOR BOOSTERTHON

Registration is NOW open for Boosterthon!  Don't forget to register your student for the new and exciting obstacle run!  You can do that here. If 50% of the school is registered by kickoff on Wednesday, February 9th, students will receive 10 extra minutes of recess!

Here are some dates to remember:

  • Wednesday, February 9th - Kick off Pep rallies in PE
  • Thursday, February 17th - Obstacle course day!  Parents, siblings, grandparents, etc. are welcome to attend.
CELEBRATE CREATIVITY

This year's Celebrate Creativity will be held on February 22nd - 25th. Crestline is excited to have the following presenters speak to our students.

  • Michelle Hazelwood Hyde- Illustrator
  • Greg McElroy- TV personality and former Alabama football player
  • Taajah Witherspoon- math educator
  • Mauricio Papapietro- chef and owner of Brick and Tin
  • Charlie Hussey- Chief Operating Officer of the SEC
  • Alie B. Gorrie- Actor and Crestline graduate
  • Shannon Riley- CEO and founder of One Stop Environmental
  • Callie Chapman- MBJH student and author
  • Act of Congress- band

If you would like to purchase autographed books by Michelle Hazelwood Hyde or Callie Chapman, click here.  All purchases must be made by February 14, 2022.

As a part of Celebrate Creativity, Taajah Witherspoon and her team from UAB are going to lead our students through a small group STEM activity using various manipulative.  One of the needed items is paper towel and toilet paper tubes.  Boxes will be set up throughout the school to collect these tubes!  Please save those tubes and send your recyclables to school by Thursday, February 17th.  

RETURNING STUDENT VERIFICATION

Mountain Brook Schools have opened up the 2022 - 2023 registration.  You should have received an email prompting you to register your student.  You can click here to access the online Returning Student Data Verification.  Data Verification must be completed by March 2, 2022.  If you have any questions regarding Data Verification, please email mbssupport@mtnbrook.k12.al.us.

KINDERGARTEN REGISTATION

The time has come to REGISTER your child for Kindergarten at Crestline!  Please click here to complete the online registration form.  After you have completed the online form, all kindergarten families are invited to attend Kindergarten Registration at Crestline on Wednesday, February 23rd anytime between 8:30am - 2pm.  Please bring the documents that are listed here.

BLOOD DRIVE

On Friday, February 18th from 8:30am - 3:30pm the LifeSouth Bus will be parked in front of Crestline for a blood drive. Everyone is welcome to donate, including neighbors and relatives.  This blood drive is in honor of Robert Bennet.  Robert was a Birmingham police officer who died in the line of duty on June 17th, 2004.  February 18th, 2022 would have been his 50th birthday.  Walk ups are welcome or you can schedule an appointment here.

GENERAL PTO MEETING

Save the date for the next General PTO meeting.  It will be held on Thursday, February 24th at 8:15am in the Media Center.  Suzan Brandt is the District Director of Technology and will come speak to us about the State of Technology in the World Today.  You do not want to miss this!  We hope you will join us.  

YEARBOOK PICTURES NEEDED

The Yearbook committee needs your help with pictures from the holidays, any school field trips or anything fun that is going on in your student's grade!  Please upload photos here and use the school code CRESTLINE2022. 

CRESTLINE CHARACTER TRAIT

Each month Crestline focuses on one character trait.  February's trait is COMPASSION.  Compassion is caring enough to do something about someone else's needs. The students will learn about compassion in counseling and the trait will be incorporated in their growth and learning.
