VETERANS DAY ANNOUNCEMENT

Crestline Elementary School’s Salute to Veterans will be very different this year, but we want our students to be able to honor veterans this November in a Celebration Tour. Provided that there is enough interest, the tour will take place on Friday, November 6, with a rain date of Monday, November 9. Veterans will gather at 9:30 at Mountain Brook Baptist Church. The tour will begin at 10:00.

Veterans will ride by Crestline while students cheer for them. It will be a wonderful opportunity for students to celebrate veterans and show their appreciation for their service.

Let’s make this a fun celebration! Please invite a veteran and plan to drive him or her in the procession through Crestline. Your veteran can be a family member or friend. Students who are honoring veterans are welcome to ride in the vehicle with them, but it is not required.

If you would like to honor a veteran, click the link below and complete the online form by Friday, October 27, so we can finalize details and send more information to participants.

IN THE SPOTLIGHT

STAFF SPOTLIGHT: JOSH WATKINS

Meet one of our fearless administrators who is the epitome of Cougar STRONG! Josh Watkins has been an assistant principal at Crestline for 11 years. Josh grew up in Springville, and now lives in Trussville with his wife Adrienne, son Caleb (9), and daughter Hannah Kate (3).

Favorite Candy: Candy Corn or Reese's Pieces

Favorite Football Team: UAB Blazers!

What do you love most about Crestline: "I love Crestline because of the community that exists. Even though we have a big school, it feels really friendly. All of our teachers know the families in the community.  Teachers share responsibility for the success of every student, even if they don't directly teach them. Everyone truly cares about each other. That does not happen everywhere. So, when you find that type of community you know it is special. "

COUGARS CARE!

Please help support our sister school, Brookville Elementary.

October 26 - November 6: 4th-6th graders are asked to bring canned foods and breakfast items.
November 2 - November 6: K-1st graders are asked to bring Halloween candy.
Coming Soon: Crestline Holiday Helpers! Please watch upcoming PTO newsletters for information about how we can make the season brighter for our friends at Brookville.

UPCOMING EVENTS

HOMECOMING MESSAGE FROM MBHS

While we are not able to have a Homecoming parade this year, we want to celebrate Homecoming 2020 with the entire Mountain Brook community. On Tuesday, October 20, from 5:00-6:00pm, Mountain Brook High School will be hosting a Spartan Drive through. We will have the Dorians, Mighty Spartan Marching Band, signs, posters, Homecoming court, and football team lining the route through the MBHS campus. Cars will enter through the front entrance to MBHS and exit to I-459. Everyone must remain in their cars while participating in the drive through. We look forward to seeing everyone as we celebrate Homecoming 2020!

**We will dismiss at normal time on Friday at 2:50pm as a result of this change!**

DRESS UP DAY, OCT 30th

ALL IN Mtn Brook

The internet can be a dangerous place for children and teens.  In this All In A Minute video, Mayor Stuart Welch discusses practical advice for monitoring the use of devices in your family.

MBCS Foundation

Our libraries need your support! The Mountain Brook City Schools Foundation knows that libraries are often
the first to receive federal and state funding cuts during times of financial downturns. Every year, the
Foundation funds new books, magazines and software like TrueFlix and BookFlix for each school’s library. To
