IN THE SPOTLIGHT

 

BOOK FAIR is THIS WEEK!!

  The Scholastic Book Fair will be held in the Library during these times: Tuesday, November 12th- Thursday, November 14th from 7:30 a.m.- 2:50 p.m. and Friday, November 15th from 7:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. There will be a great selection of books and gifts, including many holiday books! It will be the perfect time to get a jump start on your holiday shopping! If you are interested in volunteering, please sign up HERE.

Expressions Contest

This is a district wide contest with categories in photography, literature, visual arts, music composition, video & film. It is open to ALL STUDENTS and the theme this year is Why Not? ï»¿ï»¿Get your creative minds thinking about how you can answer this question using one of these mediums. Entries are due after Winter break so there is ample time to prepare!

 

LEGISLATIVE FORUM

 

The Joint Mountain Brook/Vestavia Hills PTO Legislative forum will be held on November 18th at 8:30 a.m. at the Mountain Brook Board of Education.  Our local legislative delegation will be on hand to discuss pending education policy relating to the 2020 legislative session.   Please consider joining this informative event. All are welcome!

INFORMATION


RAPTOR: The Mountain Brook School System has a new check in procedure that requires you to check in with your driver's license. Anytime you come to the school (lunch, mystery reader, volunteer work, etc.), you must have your license with you! Please help us keep our kids safe.  

CRESTLINE LIBRARY: The Crestline Library relies on parent volunteers to help shelve books that are checked in each week. Volunteering in the library is a flexible commitment and is an easy way to get involved. The librarians are so appreciative of the support that comes from the volunteers! Sign up to help HERE

MBCS Foundation

The Mountain Brook City Schools Foundation supports Mountain Brook teachers through professional development.  This year, the Foundation will fund a summer learning conference for our teachers through EdTechTeam.  According to Mountain Brook teacher Mitchell Nelson, “The fact that we get to attend our own learning conference and learn from other teachers in our system has been huge.”  Our wonderful teachers make Mountain Brook special.  Please Give $180 to support your child’s teacher today!
