Crestline 101

New to Crestline?  Feel out of touch with what is going on or need a refresher on all things Crestline?  Join us for Crestline 101 Q&A in the library at 11:30am on August 18th where all of your questions will be answered. Please bring a lunch!

We know that starting a new school can be overwhelming, not just for a child but for the parents as well.  With that in mind, we have created this booklet from the parent's perspective to help you navigate some of the main PTO functions and events at our school.

Arrival & Dismissal Procedures

Please see the procedures below for arrival and dismissal. We are looking forward to a great first day and an awesome year! We will see you tomorrow.

Arrival Procedures

  • We will accept students starting at 7:20 am. Any students arriving between 7:20 and 7:40 should report to the gym. Students will be allowed to go to their classrooms at 7:40 a.m.
  • Students arriving after 7:40 a.m. will go directly to their classrooms.
  • The tardy bell rings at 7:50. Students arriving after 7:50 should report to the office.
  • All traditional points of entry will be available for arrival and dismissal.
  • Biker and scooter riders will need to walk their bikes once they pass the first CES safety patrol position on their path to school (this excludes the intersection of Elm and Euclid patrol location).
  • 1st through 6th grade parents, please drop your students off at your typical location. Kindergarten parents are welcome to accompany their student to class on the 1st day only.
  • Bike racks will be located in the same positions as at the end of the 21-22 school year (Playground & Elm Street).

Dismissal Procedures

  • Both dismissal groups will be announced on the intercom. It is imperative that students know their pickup plan every day. Walkers and bike riders need a rainy day plan.
    • Carpool will be dismissed at 2:45 p.m. Parents need to decide a carpool name (a last name of one of the students in the carpool) print/write the chosen name and place it in the front passenger side windshield of their vehicle. Teachers will call the staging locations (lunchroom and gym) to release students to carpool once their carpool name is called.
      • Students using the front (West Jackson Blvd) carpool will be dismissed to the lunchroom.
      • Students using the back (Elm Street) carpool will be dismissed to the gym.
    • Walkers and bike riders will be dismissed at 2:50 p.m. (A walker is defined as anyone who leaves campus by any other means than carpool or bike.)
      • If any students are in walking groups with Kindergarten or 1st grade students, they will report to those students’ classrooms, pick them up, then proceed to the nearest exit.
    • Please review your “rainy day” transportation plan with your student(s). Decisions about “rainy day” transportation plans should not involve communicating with students during the school day.
  • Bikers and scooter riders will need to walk their bikes until they pass the last CES safety patrol position on their path to home (this excludes the intersection of Elm and Euclid patrol location).
  • Walkers on Elm Street will all need to cross at the crosswalk to the alley and proceed home. No unaccompanied students will be allowed up Elm Street sidewalk (towards Dexter) during afternoon dismissal.
